The bond of the culture of the cherries of the zone of production of the Protected Geographic Indication, can be established through different aspects:
Historical, topographic, agroclimatic and by the techniques of used culture and manipulation.

a) Historical. The cherries are, next to other fruits and vegetables, one of the traditional cultures in grounds of Alicante and Valencian, cultivated in many occasions in familiar operations, and that has provided from old east product to the industries Plants of Packaging of the zone, for its commercialization. This tree was introduced by the Romans who selected and improved their culture, reaching its maximum development, in this zone, the Arab time.

b) Natural. - Orography: The zone of production is one of those of greater mountainous relief of the Valencian Community, belonging to spurs of the subunit Prebética, with a typically structural relief, rotation of anticlinal and sinclinales structures. - Ground: They emphasize cretácicas limestones in mountains whereas in valleys predominate marls. The grounds of this region characterize by the high calcic carbonate content and the shortage in organic matter. It is possible to also review the ground presence with processes of iluviación of clay, in some cases very powerful. - Climate: The climate is Mediterranean tempering, with colder temperatures and greater number of precipitations than the rest of the province. The annual average temperature oscillates between 13 and 15 ' 5 ºC., with an annual average precipitation of 350-650 mm. - Hydrography: The main rivers that cross the region are the river Serpis or Alcoy and the Girona. First it is born from the confluence of numerous sources of the mountain ranges of Mariola and the one of the Holm-oak forest; it receives by the right, like affluents, to the Gorga river and the Penáguila, and by the left to the Agres river. The second is born in the mountain range of Llombay, crosses valleys of Alcala, Ebo and Laguart, ending at the Mediterranean Sea.

c) Conditions of culture: Seedtime is realised on the landlords better adapted to the conditions of ground. - Working, Prunes and Harvesting: Normally three occur or four workings, being the first and deepest one, at the end of autumn and later in the course of the vegetation occur two or three you happen of rotovator.
